CUP LICHEN RING

Inspired by the beautiful cup lichen that adorns the hawthorn shrubs and apple trees around my farm. Contrary to popular belief, lichen aren’t harmful at all but use the shrub, tree or brick for support, a place to reside. These habitats allow the formation of lichen colonies which are colourful mini ecosystems.

Away from the science, cup lichen feature in many storybooks as drinking cups for fairies following a night of mischief making!

Lichen are intricate, pretty and diverse in texture so have inspired me to create a small collection of jewellery pieces, including rings, earrings and pendants.

This ring was first sculpted in wax, drawing on the shapes of lichen, then cast in 100% recycled Sterling Silver. Entirely handmade, finished and polished.

Size M (average size for a womens ring) but can be custom ordered and made to a size of your choice.
