AMMONITE PENDANT
I am very fortunate to live in Lyme Regis at the heart of the Jurassic coast. Beachcombing and fossil hunts are part of every day. This small ammonite was chiselled from a rock nodule found on the beach at Lyme Regis. Buried in rock for 190million years, it’s such a privilege to be the first person to see the ammonite revealed!
I was so excited with this fossil that I have cast it in molten, recycled sterling silver to create a beautiful pendant. The bail has been hand carved to echo the septa or dividing chamber walls on the shell of the ammonite.
The pendant is partnered with an 18” sterling silver wheat chain, so called because the 4 strands of silver woven together resemble a sheaf of wheat. The intricate design of the chain has a beautiful texture and is comfortable and smooth against the skin.
Height of the ammonite with bail 19mm
Sterling Silver Wheat Chain length 18inches (46cm)
All pieces are handmade in my Devon workshop so no two pieces are ever the same, making each and every creation unique.
Delivered in a presentation box for gifting along with a cotton, drawstring travel pouch.
