Created in 2023 this artwork depicts an Oak leaf rendered in blue coloured thread.

English oak (Quercus robur) is the most majestic of English trees. Thought of as aged and wise wise the English oak holds a special place in our culture, history, and hearts. You’ll see that I borrowed’ an oak leaf from my garden to trace the shape and vein pattern!

Materials:

Thread, pins on Fabriano 50% cotton art paper

Embroidery size approximately 10 x 12cm

Framed in a matt white, shadow box frame with AR70 UV protective, conservation museum art glass.

Suitable for wall hanging or free standing.
