DEEDS NOT WORDS SUFFRAGETTE RING SET
Three beautiful rings reflecting the incredible sacrifice of the womens Suffragette Movement in the UK.
The Women’s Social and Political Union was created by Emmeline Pankhurst in 1903 and coined the ‘Suffragettes’ by The Daily Mail. Their motto ‘Deeds not Words’ symbolises their ideology as they moved from peaceful protest towards stronger tactics.
The Suffragettes wore specific colours, initially to secretly identify each other and later to form a visual union at meetings and protests.
The suffragette colours are purple, white, and green.
Purple represents dignity, royalty and freedom
White represents purity in private and public life.
Green represents hope and is the emblem of spring.
The colour scheme was decided by Mrs Pethick-Lawrence in 1908 and was seen as a duty and privilege to be worn.
This flattering and elegant trio of silver rings, embezelled with the three colours in Cubic Zirconia stones is a tribute to their vision, their protest and sacrifice.
